Dr. McKenzie Blake, BSc, MD
McKenzie was raised in Midland, Ontario and is happy to be back in her home town to do the job that she loves. She has been working as a part time family physician in Midland since 2012 as well as providing home calls, palliative care and being a member of different hospital committees. She is a mother of 2 young children and enjoys many activities including skiing, running and yoga. She truly enjoys her diverse practice and has a special interest in newborn, well child, mental health and palliative medicine.
Dr. Mark Grundmanis, BSc, MD
Mark has been practicing in Midland since 1991 and continues to see his patients in hospital including rehab and palliative care. His three daughters are attending school and working out of town, which leaves Mark more time to cycle, ski, and cottage on Six Mile Lake.
Dr. Katie Cuttini, BSc, MD
Music has always been a passion for Katie. She took lessons to play the piano and eventually the violin, and earned her ARCT in piano. Health and science were also important interests for her. She attended Queen's University for her undergrad and then again for medical school, with the goal of becoming a family physician. After graduating, she completed her residency training in Toronto and Midland through U of T alongside her husband Hanni Darwish. After a few locums in northern Ontario, Katie and Hanni returned to Midland to join the ACG Doctors group. Katie has been caring for patients in her clinic since 2012. She also has experience with palliative care, reproductive health, and mental health counseling. Her free time is often spent with her 2 young children.
Dr. Hanni Darwish, BScH, MSc, MD
Hanni grew up in the beautiful Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia. He enjoyed learning about science and nature, and was excited to teach others as well. After completing his undergrad in Biochemistry at Mount Allison University, Hanni went to McGill University to complete his MSc. When working in a lab became less appealing, he changed his focus and applied to medical school. He attended Queen's University with Katie Cuttini, and they eventually found their way to Midland at the end of their family medicine residency training through U of T. Hanni enjoys caring for patients in the clinic as well as in the hospital. He also holds various administrative roles in the hospital and the North Simcoe Family Health Team. He enjoys playing games and singing songs with his 2 young kids.
Dr. Ashley McCann, BSc, MD
Ashley began her medical training at the University of Western Ontario in 2007. After completing her medical degree in 2011, she returned to her hometown of Kingston, Ontario to attend Queen's University for her residency in Family Medicine. She graduated in June 2013 and then worked in several communities before taking over the family practice of Dr Rick Coutts in 2016.
